Contrary to popular belief, Project-Based Learning (PBL) is not a curriculum. It is a teaching and learning approach that shifts the educational focus from teacher-led instruction to learner-driven projects.

PBL involves learners in complex, real-world projects that require critical thinking, collaboration and creative problem-solving. In so doing, PBL helps teachers create projects that are CAPS-aligned, age-appropriate and deeply engaging, ensuring that learning objectives are met through meaningful and impactful activities.

This is significant because it means that teacher trained under this programme will be adept at designing and facilitating learning experiences that are not only academically enriching but also engaging and enjoyable for learners. This approach promises to foster a generation of learners who are not only academically proficient but also equipped with the life skills necessary to thrive in the 21st century.

In this FutureTalk webinar, Sizwe Nxasana, CEO and Founder of Sifiso Learning Group and Mampho Langa, Head of Schools at Future Nation Schools debunk the myths surrounding PBL and showcase why PBL represents the future of learning and teaching.
